My Gear

David Small
When I ride, I wear a custom designed Helix V2 suit. It really contours to anyone's body, which reduces drag and unnecessary wear on the suit. Vortex suits are made well and are very durable, which is so important when you wear them as much as I do.

Profile

David Small (UK)
Dave started his life on the water at age 8 when he learned to slalom ski. At 13 he was introduced to barefooting and the rest is history. He continued with tournament skiing but by this time he was already thinking about becoming World Barefoot Champion. Dave is big part of the up and coming GB Barefoot team based out of the United Kingdom.

Dave spent much of his early training days with Ron Scarpa and progressed rapidly as he won the Junior division at the 1998 Barefoot Worlds. In 2002 Dave moved into the open division and it was here at Walsee, Austria he was crowned Barefooting World Champion for the first time. Dave would make it two in a row as he retained his title as World Champion at the 2004 World Championships in Mulwalla, Australia.

Needles to say success has come early for Dave. We feel that Dave is the future of Vortex Wetsuits. He possess the drive and commitment it takes to become the best of the best. Considering Dave lives and currently goes to school in the UK his training and time on the water is very limited due to the harsh winters and short summers. Imagine what he could be like if he were able to train all year round..... The future is very bright for Dave and we will continue to support him in his successful career in barefooting.
